Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a globally recognized college admissions test, which serves as a prerequisite to apply for undergraduate programs in most of the united states and several countries.
The Scholastic Aptitude Test is created, owned and published by The College Board, a not for profit organisation based in the united states. Aim is to provide equal opportunities for students.
It is designed to test a student’s mathematical aptitude, reading comprehension, essay writing ability and basic knowledge of high school level grammar concepts.
What’s on SAT?
The Scholastic Aptitude Test contain three different section:-
1) Reading comprehension.
The reading section include reading passages and sentence completions.
The math section include question on arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.
The writing section include a short essay and on identifying errors and improving grammar and usage.

Mainly it is a paper based standardized test. The exam pattern is multiple choice questions (MCQ) with four option, one of which is correct. The Scholastic Aptitude Test also has an optional essay writing section.
When SAT can take?
The SAT is offered seven times per year in the United States, typically in January, March, May, June, October, November and December.
Who can take the Scholastic Aptitude Test?
SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors in the United States, But an Indian student who have completed their 12years of school education successfully from any organized Indian Board (Indian student appearing for 11th or 12th class can take the SAT).

And 3hr 50min with the essay.
For Reading comprehension is 70min-two different types can be found in this section, the sentence completions and passage based reading. There are 48 passage based reading question on this section. These are composed of short passage followed by questions that deals with them.
For mathematics is 70min-it is composed of MCQ and student produce response questions.
For writing is 60min-The 25min is for essay, and for multiple choice questions students will have 35 min to complete.

Taking the SAT is the first step in finding the right college for you, the place where you can further develop you skills and passion. But SAT scores are just one of many factors that colleges consider when making their admission decisions your previous grades (school, college) are also very important. In fact, the combination of grades and SAT scores is the best predictor of your academic succession in colleges.
SAT score results.
SAT score results are available two weeks after the test date.
Scores on the SAT range form 400 to 1600.And one important thing is, there will be a negitive marking, which means if your answer is incorrect points may be deducted, So better leave it blank if you don’t know the answer. The amount deducted for incorrect answers is lower than the amount received for correct answer.
NOTE:-The SAT score are valid for a period of 5years.
